My name is Jonathan Carlson and my love and experience in the arts began very early in my childhood. I always remember having a fondness for drawing, and over time I learned to express my creativity using other fine arts.
I graduated Cambrian College in visual communications/graphic arts and eventually found employment in the marketing and advertising industry as a graphic designer.
My roots in photography began in the educational darkroom - practicing different techniques and developing my own prints. I converted to digital photography in 2001 when the format was still relatively unknown. As the years went by and technology advanced, I too learned to incorporate the latest tools and software to push my photographic efforts to greater heights. I am am now building up my own studio and am equipped with only the best cameras and lenses which help me capture top-quality photographs - even under the most challenging conditions.
My primary career is working as a personal support worker for Christian Horizons. My contract is such that I can operate my photography business full-time from home - a privelaeg that I feel very blessed with.
I feel the most important skill I feel I have is in taking care of others - whether that means my children or my clients. The things I do best are in the best interest of others. And being able to take great pictures that are meaningful to others stems from this very desire to serve.
